97 GMC Yukon Ignition problems?

Hello I was hoping anyone had information about what you be the culprit behind this. Yesterday I left to run some errands and noticed when I put the key in the ignition it turned towards me, allowing the radio to come on, but then I had a very hard time getting it to turn on. By the end of the day at my last stop it wouldn't budge at all! The ignition is locked(and just allowing me to turn in towards myself a little), the steering wheel is completely locked, and then of course the gear won't shift out of park. Awhile back I noticed a couple times when removing the key, the truck would still be running. I would have to re insert the key then the engine would turn off. Does it sound like the ignition switch? Im just stressed because financially struggling, and then this happens. When it rains it pours. Any information would be so greatly appreciated. Thank you
