Can you become a barrister in the UK with spent convictions?

The profession is specifically excluded from the provisions of the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act and you would be required to disclose your conviction(s) when applying for membership of an Inn of Court. It's all a matter of what your conviction was for. Perhaps the Bar Council could advise on this before you invest time, money and effort on what might be a wild goose chase.
