Which one? lawyer or doctor?

ok for my career im stuck between lawyer and doctor. in school im good at science but a little bad at english but progressing. i wanted to be a surgeon at first but then i found out how long it takes and my mum wants me to be a barrister. by the way do they have to wear a wig and gown? so basically can you guys help me choose please
