Can my HP dv9000 with power issues be fixed?
Recently, my HP dv9000 laptop has started acting up. What it does is when I start it up, it will click on, get to the HP Invent screen, and power itself off. I cannot get it past this screen, it doesn't respond to having any of the F# buttons pressed and that actually seems to shut it down faster. I brought it to my free campus computer repair desk but since it is a hardware issue (they say it is the power control chip being burned out though I have found a few things about maybe the video card being the culprit) they cannot fix it for me. However, I'm wondering if this issue is even fixable at all. Is there anything I can do? I bought this computer back in the summer of 2008, so there isn't a warranty on it any more. I also don't have money to buy a new computer, I only have about $25. Any suggestions?
