Bad serpentine belt or bad pulley/bearing?

The grinding sounds more like a bad bearing. While the motor is stopped & the keys are IN your pocket loosen the belt & spin the pulleys by hand to see if it is stiff, hard to turn or makes noise. Also check everything that is turned by the belt. If everything is OK then replace the belt.
