ABH case against partner unfounded, please help?

If he's been bailed without being charged yet, the police are still looking into it. If they thought they had enough to begin with he'd have been charged there and then. It may well be that their enquiries will confirm that he is, indeed, innocent, until then there's nothing to do. If and when he IS charged, he'll need a lawyer then.
